I'd like to be able to read what Wonder Woman is saying here. The symbolism of her appearance is clear. In particular, her lasso that forces anyone in it's grasp to tell the truth. Truth is power. That is something the Gruber revealed through her photographs.
I don't necessarily understand or know the full context between the pop icons/characters and Ruth, but if that is Lady Gaga on the left I can definitely draw the parallel of communicating their lived experiences through their media (music vs photo) to the world in such fearless ways.
When I look at this picture I feel empowered as a woman. Ruth Garber wears a glamorous, large fur coat with her camera in hand ready to capture an incredibly important time in history.
